Jim Pinard grew up in Easthampton, MA. He got his start using computers in school, focusing on data processing: classifying and categorizing data. Following school, Pinard began his professional career at Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee, MA as a computer specialist. There, he provided IT and software training support to C5A Galaxy aircraft teams.
Pinard left the government sector because he wanted to travel more and see the country, while continuing to hone and improve his technical skills. He found that opportunity at VCI Solutions in Springfield, MA and spent ten years working within their network services division, supporting media facilities across the country.
“Traveling to different broadcast facilities around the country gave me a unique opportunity to see a diverse array of workflows. This provided me an excellent baseline understanding of broadcast operations, and it was this experience that proved to be invaluable when I transitioned to working at Myers,” said Pinard.
Currently, Pinard works in the Technical Support department primarily fields client inquiries. In addition to providing application support, he works on installing ProTrack updates for each release. Pinard is also tapped to perform online training from time to time and continues to travel assisting the company with tradeshow ventures.
At Myers, Pinard enjoys working with clients, helping them with questions and assisting them with issues that may arise. He also appreciates the workplace environment, “I really like the teamwork within and between departments here at Myers,” said Pinard.
Looking forward, Pinard is excited about the new technology Myers is employing, “It’s exciting to work with new and evolving technology. I love the direction our development team is taking on both the back and front end of ProTrack.” “This is a 30 year old company that is acting like a start-up – it’s fun!”
In his free time, Pinard is an avid candlepin bowler, loves yardwork and taking his dog on long walks. He enjoys going to shows, baseball games, and traveling.
