Northampton, MA – Myers, a respected developer in broadcast management software, has announced the development and implementation of a shared operational facility for Twin Cities Public Television (TPT), based in St. Paul MN, to deliver programming and trafficking services to WYCC PBS Chicago. The newly established environment, which will be managed and supported by Myers’ ProTrack software, serves as the backbone of TPT’s innovative Joint Master Control facility, and will enable WYCC to capitalize on TPT’s centralized programming, traffic and master control operations as a means to improve operations while containing operating expenses.
This multi-station project, the second such Joint Master Control project for TPT, significantly expands capabilities of existing workflows, while maintaining station independent sales and content management processes. Each station will be able to leverage a unified ProTrack database that supports centralized metadata, content library management, and shared master control services. Additionally, integration will be provided with real-time and non-real-time content acquisition systems, as well as automation, PSIP, and archive management. Furthermore, ProTrack will facilitate program scheduling and sharing across channels and station groups while simultaneously enabling Twin Cities Public Television to manage Programming and Trafficking services seamlessly for WYCC.
“We are in a unique position to be able to provide our clients with the opportunity to implement such a flexible, collaborative, and innovative technical environment to expand capabilities and yet drastically reduce cost for not one, but multiple stations,” said Crist Myers, CEO and president, Myers. “We understand that in order to be successful you have to be efficient as well and this project is a true demonstration of Myers being able to deliver that efficiency.”
“As a Myers client for nine years, we have come to trust their expertise and the products and services they deliver, as well as appreciate their knowledge and understanding of our intricate operational workflows,” said Terry O’Reilly, Chief Content Officer, Twin Cities Public Television. “Our Joint Master Control serves as an affordable option to the larger Centralcasting facilities available to PBS stations. As we focus on serving small and medium-market PBS outlets it’s great to have a trusted partner like Myers on our team.”
The ProTrack broadcast management system empowers an intelligent workflow, from acquisition to reconciliation, whether it is for an individual station or large multi-platform broadcast group. The system fully integrates into a facility’s infrastructure to serve as the hub for managing all valuable content metadata from sales, traffic, accounting, program management, IT, and more.
